What is your Pricing Structure?
As most other drafting contractors would say: This answer varies. We evaluate the project as a whole in terms of complexity, unique systems utilized, and projected sheets. Typically this lands us between 75$ – $150 per sheet, but are always willing to try to work with your budget.
How do I initiate a quote request?
There are any number of ways you can accomplish this. You can use the Contact Us page of http://www.finaldraftmd.com, email eric@finaldraftmd.com, or call 814-952-0765 to discuss over the phone. We try and turn these quote proposals around within 48 hours.
What does your proposal include?
Our proposals intend to be thorough, and confirm what we understand the scope to be. This is a document that is intended to get us all on the same page. We want to service our customers in a way that has no surprises. If something is excluded from our scope, we want you to be aware. Likewise, if something is missing from our scope that you expect, we want you to let us know. Click here for a sample proposal.
How is a project executed, or released for drawings?
At minimum, we require the proposal to be signed and returned to start the process; A purchase order is preferred. As long as all required information has been provided prior to this point, and nothing has changed, your lead time starts when this is received. We do everything possible to adhere to this lead time by being thorough in the proposal stage, but please note that RFI’s have the ability to affect this lead time. We communicate fully, and carefully to keep you well informed through the entire process.
If any information appears to be missing, or we feel that we are not getting correct baseline information, we reserve the right to send our Shop Drawing Information form for you to complete. Click here to see this form. This is simply a platform to provide the baseline system specifications that would be required to begin the shop drawing process. This is not a guarantee that there will not be a requirement for RFI’s during the process.
How are revisions handled?
Firstly, mistakes are fixed at no additional charge. We make every effort to be as accurate as possible, but mistakes do happen, and we will rectify these on our drawings.
We include (1) round of “in scope” revisions in our proposal. This means change of frame sizes, substrates, and/or notes of this nature. If framing systems are added, or change, we may need to look at additional charges.
Engineering Revisions are typically captured on our proposal at the time of quote. Please make sure that if you require us to revise per an engineer’s markup, we know up front. This is typically an additional charge.
How are our projects billed?
Ideally, we try to bill at 100% of the invoice value on the following 1st, or 15th of the month following drawing completion. We will separate out Engineering revisions, as these typically follow later.
That being said, we follow many different contractor’s billing schedules, and can adhere to a percentage to bill at different thresholds for your project.
It’s appreciated that all invoices be paid within 30 days.
What if more work is required after the project is closed?
We are always happy to assist, and help as much as possible. We’ll avoid additional charges if able to, but we will always provide be able to provide a new, fair cost for any additional work that is required.
How are PE Stamped Drawings & Calcs Handled?
When Final Draft is asked to handle the engineering calcs, we will run this however you like. Our typical process is that we will complete the shop drawings. The drawings will then be engineered, and a calc package will be produced. Nothing is stamped at this point, but everything should be submitted for approval along with your product data, and other submittals. Once everything is approved, we will make any adjustments necessary, and then have the Engineer stamp the final shop drawings and approved calc package. These documents are then yours at this point.
